ESPN acquires LaLiga rights through 2028-29 By The Athletic Staff 58 Comments ESPN reached an agreement for the broadcasting rights to Spain s LaLiga through the 2028-29 season and will begin coverage in August, the network announced on Thursday. ESPN will have the English-language and Spanish-language media rights for LaLiga Santander (the top division in Spain) and LaLiga SmartBank. The broadcast company has been acquiring soccer rights in the past two years, including rights to stream every game for Germany’s Bundesliga on ESPN+. LaLiga is home to some of the biggest clubs in the world, including Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
