MDW spokesperson Kate Young Ricardo told the Philippine News Agency on Wednesday that the two pumping stations will be built in Barangays Camanjac and Talay. "These additional deep wells will serve the needs of 35,000 households in their service areas," Ricardo said. DUMAGUETE CITY - The local government of this Negros Oriental capital is distributing Thursday millions of pesos worth of assistance to victims of Typhoon Odette that left a trail of destruction in its path last December 2021. The financial assistance, as approved by Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, will be handed over to about 446 families in different barangays here, a media release on Wednesday evening said. Remollo approved the monetary aid of PHP10,000 each for 36 families whose houses were totally damaged and PHP5,000 each for 410 families whose houses were partially damaged. The distribution to the beneficiaries will be at Barangays Motong, Piapi, Camanjac, Poblacion 1, Balugo, Mangnao, Candau-ay, Talay and Poblacion 8, Junob, Bagacay, Cadawinonan, Pulantubig, Looc, Taclobo, Cantil-e and Bajumpandan in the morning, and at Calindagan, Banilad, Bunao, Daro, Poblacion 2 and Batinguel in the afternoon.
