That is not going to be fun for your travels specially not to the mountains as for the bay. Right now we are seeing lighter showers out there. Getting a break from it for a lot of spots. Golden gate bridge. You can see the sway to that camera. There. We are definitely breezy as well as windy spots of rain, mostly light this morning at this point. Lets start with meteorologist kari hall, tracking the Current Conditions in the sierra. A lot of snow. Its already coming down. Even though were not seeing a lot of really heavy rain in the bay area, as you go up in elevation that snow is dumping down. So were also seeing some thunderstorms developing just to our north, and we will have that chance as we go throughout today, with the waves of rain coming in and making that morning commute very soggy. Here is a look at our stormranger, our mobile doppler radar, where we are seeing the off and on showers moving through the north bay, parts of the peninsula, and right now into the trivalley as well as the south bay. What we can expect throughout the day is some spotty rain, some gusty winds, and a chance of thunderstorms, but ahead for the weekend its going to get even colder, and well have some of the showers continuing through at least sunday, and then, also, the heavy snow, with a blizzard warning now in effect through sunday, with nea
We are seeing the storm system dumping heavy amounts of snow for the sierra, before the bay area, the rain has been very spotty, and thats the activity that we are expecting. As we take a look at one of our live pallisades cameras. Of course, weve gotten notes that they have closed the resort but were seeing very low visibility and we are expecting the conditions to continue to get worse, over the next several hours. And we can see the cold front, that long line of clouds, that we can see extending across the region, and moving closer to the bay area, so once that gets here, we are going to see the possibility of a few more thunderstorms, as that energy rolls right over the bay. And also transports a huge amount of moisture, not only across the bay area, but also through the sierra, where we are seeing the heavy snow coming down.
