20 years old, a sewer visor. faced with the most grave of situations, a conflict no one should ever have to confront and he responds to it with love. over and over. yes. everything he said to us right there, he knew the girl at the front desk a little bit, he sends her family love. to the sergeant, his family. and his message. we worry so much in this time of violence that violence will be met with violence, yet those who experience these horrible tragedies firsthand, like the people who were in the synagogue last week. that s right. they respond with more love and more of a feeling of community. in his car a girl he didn t even know who broke her arm, he took her to the hospital. we will hope that love triumphs because we have to report on these tragedies. it does. a lot. we can make it triumph, we just have to do it. msnbc senior national correspondent chris jansing is at the family reunification center where families have been

community looks like if you surround the kids with the five promises that they need to survive, and that is what has happened in the d.c. promise neighborhood. it is a wonderful gathering of all kinds of resources that come together to provide the supports. not just for the children, but for the entire community. and explain how it goes beyond just the kids in class and extracurricular activities. as you say, it s the whole neighborhood. it s the entire neighborhood. in fact, we call it america s promise for two generations because you have to include the parents, too. the new director of the promise neighborhoods says it s america s promise for three generations because she includes the older people, too. it s feeling of community, and everybody working together. america s promise helped to put the resources into the commun y community. educare is there, which provides early childhood education.
