Kochi: The food safety department is joining hands with associations of restaurants, caterers, bakers and NGOs to ensure that no needy person goes hun.
The nonprofit Feed My Sheep organization has stepped up during the aftermath of Maui’s wildfires to provide food for those experiencing unexpected need. While the organization was already mobilized to serve households at or near the poverty line, the service extended its reach to those displaced by the Maui fires.
At Shelton’s Mountain View Elementary School (Mt View), they recently launched a new type of vending machine to satisfy the mind instead of the munchies because it dispenses books in both English and Spanish for kids to keep.
Joel Hawkins is championing food boxes for families in Bowling Green and Warren County through his non-profit, House on the Hill. His ability to organize and support his amazing crew of volunteers is an added bonus! Joel has created partnerships with various churches such as Plum Springs Baptist, Christ United Methodist, and Woodburn Baptist. He has diligently synergized with Meijer, Bowling Green City, and Warren County Family Resource Centers. His passion to help the homeless and underserved is evident in his dedication to his House on the Hill team.
