New Newsfeed Coming To Facebook!
Facebook has announced that it is allowing users to choose between seeing their newsfeed according to the current the algorithmic system, or the full feed arranged in reverse chronological order. The company has announced the “News Feed Filter Bar” option, which makes it easier for users to switch between the regular News Feed, curated by Facebook’s notorious algorithm, and either a ‘Favorites’ or ‘Recent’ listing of posts, the latter of which is pretty much a reverse-chronological feed. Favorites allows users to select up to 30 friends and pages to include in your priority listing, with posts from those that you choose then highlighted with a badge. According to Facebook, these changes will give Facebookers better control of their relationship with the algorithm, and help cut down on divisive content.
(Pocket-lint) - Facebook is introducing a Feed Filter Bar feature that will give you more precise control over your news feed. It basically lets you see posts chronologically - or by most recent, in the order they were posted - by simply toggling away from its usual algorithmic feed.
Technically, the company has offered users the option to sort feeds by “most recent , but it buried it in a settings menu. Facebook also launched a Favourites feature last October that allows users to select up to 30 friends and pages so that Facebook will display posts from them in a separate feed. Now, Favorites and Recents are front and centre - at the top of the news feed in separate tabs.

Siri is shedding its default female voice. With the latest iOS 14.5 beta, Apple is introducing two new English-speaking voices for Siri alongside the ability to choose which voice to use when setting up an iOS or HomePod device. The new voices should also sound more natural, with improved inflection and smoother transitions between different words.
Apple’s move away from female voices as default could help to address gender bias implied by
2019 UN report said that it “reflects and reinforces” the idea that assistants are female and they “not only replicate gender inequalities, but also widen them.”
Your intelligent assistant experience might differ, however. In the UK, Siri’s default voice is the male equivalent, and the same is, or was, true in Arabic, French and Dutch. Making the default voice option your choice could make it less of an issue.
Facebook has introduced new tools to give its user more control over what they share and see on the social media platform. By default, anyone on Facebook can see and comment on public posts. While the default comment settings remain unchanged, the social media platform now allows its users to control the commenting audience by choosing from a menu of options ranging from anyone who can see the post to only the people and Pages tagged in the post. Besides, the newly introduced tools also let users filter News Feed on Facebook, giving them more control over the content that appears on their timelines.
