Attorneys for two Chicago Public Schools (CPS) families had fiery words for the Chicago Board of Education Thursday after a court hearing was held in a criminal case against a former teacher at Federico Garcia Lorca Elementary School.
Two Chicago families have filed a federal lawsuit against the Chicago Board of Education and a former physical education teacher for alleged sexual abuse against three students at Federico Garcia Lorca Elementary School.
Attorneys for two families say they were not notified that elementary teacher Andrew Castro had been removed from teaching in May 2021 over abuse allegations and that he continued abusing three boys outside school.
