Virtual Start-up Summit held with US-based Entrepreneurs

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington convened a Virtual Start-up Summit entitled “Science & Technology as a Catalyst for Entrepreneurship”.
The Summit was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MOITT), Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the Higher Education Commission (HEC), National Science & Technology Park (NSTP) and Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA).
The Virtual Start-up Summit brought together 120 start-up industry stakeholders from the Pakistani diaspora in the US and in Pakistan.
In his keynote address, the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi highlighted the role of the Foreign Office as a facilitator in bringing together diverse innovation-related stakeholders.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Secretary Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui has said that on the direction of the Federal Minister for IT Syed Amin Ul Haque steps are underway for the provision of broadband services in unserved and underserved areas of the Country.
While chairing a meeting regarding the way forward for utilization of existing optical fiber cable laid in Pakistan at the Committee Room of the Ministry of IT in Islamabad on Monday, the Secretary IT said that masses can be facilitated in a better way through the use of laid optical fiber cable in effective manner.

‘Fateha khawani’

Islamabad:A condolence meeting was held to offer ‘Fateha’ for departed soul of Maroof Afzal, former Federal Secretary Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, at committee room of Ministry of IT on Monday, says a press release.
Secretary IT Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, heads of attached departments and all officers of Ministry of IT and Telecommunication were present.The participants offered ‘Fateha’ and conveyed their sincere sympathies to bereaved family. They prayed Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in peace and grant courage to his entire family to bear irreparable loss with patience.
