Although Luzerne County COVID-19 vaccine providers received no vaccine shipments last week because of winter storms, they got a major shot in the arm this week.
Vaccine manufacturers Pfizer and Moderna shipped a total of 14,025 doses to 12 providers in the county on Monday and Tuesday, according to data released Wednesday by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center received most of the vaccine for its vaccination site in CenterPoint Park in Jenkins Twp. â 5,850 doses of Pfizerâs vaccine and 4,300 doses of Modernaâs.
Add the number of vaccine doses shipped here last week to the 14,550 doses shipped the week of Feb. 8 and it exceeds the combined number of doses shipped here over the four weeks between Jan. 11 and Feb. 7 by 300 doses.
Phase 1B-Tier 3, which includes teachers, to be activated on March 15
