YDA decries Centre’s move on city’s hospitals Federal cabinet has once again sought control of JPMC, NICVD, NICH The Young Doctors Association (YDA) and the Young Nurses Association (YNA) Sindh denounced on Monday, the Centre s decision to takeover control of three hospitals in Karachi. The protesting doctors and nurses maintained that the Federal Medical Teaching Institutes Ordinance 2020 - under which the institutions have been listed by the Centre - would create hurdles for the healthcare community and make it difficult for low-income citizens to avail services. The federal ministry of national health services issued a notification on January 7, 2021, stating that Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and the National Institute of Pediatric Health (NICH) are to be handed over to the federal government under the above mentioned ordinance.

Federal cabinet allows interior minister to delegate powers for ECL s amendment By Approval given only to carry out orders of judiciary Federal cabinet also approves 2017 census ECC decisions ratified ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has allowed the newly-appointed interior minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, to delegate powers to amend the Exit Control List (ECL). According to a report by  The News, the decision was taken during Tuesday s federal cabinet meeting.  The approval has been given only to carry out the orders of the judiciary but the final approval of the amendment will be sought from the Cabinet, recommended by the cabinet committee - comprising ministers for law, home affairs, and accountability. The secretary for home affairs would attend the meeting upon a special invitation.
