Limbo Scottish director Ben Sharrock s comic drama about misfit refugees struggling with life on a remote Scottish island is set for a theatrical release on April 30, 2021.
After nabbing two BAFTA nominations for best film and best debut feature,
Limbo will get a limited release at the multiplex. The film centers on Omar, a young Syrian musician waiting to hear whether the British government will grant him asylum.
Sharrock spent time working for an NGO in refugee camps in southern Algeria and living in Damascus in 2009 shortly before the outbreak of the Syrian civil war. There he formed a network of friends whose personal stories inspired the film.
