Music, normally one of America’s biggest, splashiest productions, took on a strangely sedate tone in 2020. Big artists were largely silent, and when they weren’t, their work was often more subdued, introspective and even meaningful. It’s probably not surprising that being trapped inside leads to some more interesting art, but what is surprising was how good it was. Many artists discovered previously unexplored depths and showed a willingness to try new things that might have felt strange in any other year except this one. So, in a very different kind of year, our favorite albums feel different than in years past.
Christian hip-hop duo Fern and Marty of Social Club Misfits say their new album,
Feared By Hell, is meant to encourage believers in these times when many are turning away from their faith.
Coming off the success of their latest full-length album,
MOOD//DOOM, Marty (Martin Lorenzo Santiago)and Fern (Fernando Miranda) said they ve seen many people walk away from Christianity this year in the midst of unrest, riots, and the global pandemic. I just spoke to one of my friends, a big pastor, and he was telling me that one of the things they ve been dealing with is a lot of their core members have just been leaving the faith,” Marty told The Christian Post.
