react breaking news one person, one person was injured when an inzippedary based was found in austin texas. authorities say it s not connected to the string of bombings across the city. but the city is on edge tonight. i want to bring in nick watt live at the scene. good evening to you. what can you tell us about the latest incident? reporter: well, don, you summed it up. this is a city on edge. at about 7:00 tonight this good will center, the report went out that there had been a bomb, a reported bomb. the atf was on the scene, the fbis was on the scene. local law enforcement. it turns out that somebody dropped off a box of doonlss and in the box there was a military memento. saying it s an artillery similarity when an employee threw it in the crash it ignited. he is going to be fine. but this city as it is really, really on edge. as this report was coming in i was in neighborhood ten minutes
away where that trip wire bomb went off sunday night. i was talking to a grandfather there with his granddaughter. he says he wasn t taking her out for ice cream because who knows when he strikes next. what about the two bombs this morning. one didn t detonate. what s the common link with the other ones in the scenario? reporter: well the fbi came out and said the two bombs are definitely linked to the spate of bombings we have seen since march 2nd. one detonated shortly after maryland midnight one blew at a fedex facility. another one found in a sorting facility at fed iks near the austin airport. that didn t detonate. and fedex knows how to track a package. they handed over a lot of information to investigators and we are told by a local police department that the fbi is looking into a possibility that
themselves. second special counsel as congressman lee zeldin has recommended so we can take the findings of the ig report. take the information we have learned in congressional hearings and actually have prosecutions because my fear is that if we don t have a second special counsel this will turn out a lot like the benghazi investigation where we learn a lot about facts but no one held accountable. you know what bothers me, congressman, is that given the fbi and the department of justice, dilatory approach, you know, to everything, from the hanging over of emails from the redactions, from the outright refusal by even the fbi director saying well we will work out what we re going to give congress which halls oversight over justifiable and the fbis, you know, it seems to me that they it is impossible, they basically have said everything but we dare you because we re not going to do anything anyway. what do we do about this? well, congress doesn t have the power to throw people in j

a nancy pelosi letter demanding that he take action? this is really a breach of the public trust by the speaker of the house. he has an obligation as the speaker of the entire house of representatives to protect the integrity of the house and to protect the integrity of the house intelligence committee, because you are going to see fbis going forward and justice departments going forward, they will refuse to share information with the house and senate intelligence committees for fear that it s going to be deliberately manipulated. i mean, this fbi statement that we have seen saying that there are material omissions of fact, meaning that this memo is designed to mislead, is obviously very troubling. so paul ryan has an obligation to protect the process and make sure that we re not undermining the ability of members of congress as the people s representatives to have access to important classified information for the country, and he s putting that all in
