The two city corporations of Dhaka have tried many strategies in their war against the city’s mosquitoes to prevent dengue from spreading. From flying drones to detect stagnant water sources to releasing frogs in ponds to destroy mosquitoes and their larvae, they explored so many avenues.
A total of 737 people was infected with dengue in June. In the past five years, June has not witnessed so many cases except in 2019, one of the worst years in regards to dengue infections.
The Directorate General of Health Services has already warned the authorities concerned about the possibility of an increase in spread of dengue this year
