We re not only focused on infrastructure but also ― Lagos Commissioner

Share The Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folashade Adefisayo has stated that the current administration is not only focused on infrastructure alone but also on all the elements of the value chain of education. The Commissioner stated this during the commissioning of the four schools during the flag off commissioning of Lagos State Schools Infrastructure Projects in Lagos. The Four Schools were Akintan Junior Grammar School, Surulere; Fazil Omar Senior High School; Onike Girls Junior High School, Yaba and Igbobi Junior High School, Shomolu. She noted that the commissioning reflects the amount of ongoing activity in upgrading infrastructure in the schools in Lagos.

Education best tool to end poverty – Sanwo-Olu Published 7 May 2021 The Governor of Lagos State,  Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said education is the best tool to close the gap between poverty and wealth. Sanwo-Olu who said this on Thursday, during the commissioning of four Lagos State school infrastructure projects revealed that the government had completed over 1,097 projects covering 970 schools across the state within the last two years. The projects which were commissioned include a block of 18 classrooms with administrative offices, library, laboratory block, toilets, and borehole each at Igbobi Junior College, Fazil Omar Senior High School and Iwaya Onike Girls High School, Iwaya as well as a block of 18 classrooms at the Akintan Junior Grammar School.

…State to unveil 300 more education projects next week Four magnificent newly completed school buildings were unveiled on Thursday by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu across three Local Government Areas (LGA) in Lagos State. The multi-level ultra-modern buildings are part of the infrastructure projects completed by the Ministry of Education under the Lagos Metropolitan Development and Governance Project (LMDGP), which is covering 970 basic and secondary schools across the State. Sanwo-Olu inaugurated the school projects amid praises by teachers, students and their parents. As he stopped in each of the beneficiary schools to formally open the buildings, the Governor was warmly received by cultural troupes made up of pupils, singing in appreciation of the gesture.

Share Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said on Thursday that his administration’s intervention in the education sector in the state has begun to yield positive results, disclosing that his government had so far completed over 1,097 projects covering 970 schools across the state within the last two years. The governor said this during the commissioning of four Lagos State School infrastructure projects, just he expressed joy that students’ performance had improved in examinations, national and international competitions, among others. The projects, which were commissioned, include a block of 18 classrooms with administrative offices, library, laboratory block, toilets, and borehole each at Igbobi Junior College, Somolu; Fazil Omar Senior High School, Iwaya; Onike Girls Junior High School, Yaba and Akintan Iwaya Junior Grammar School, Surulere.
