Jordan envoy for boosting ties with Pakistan in IT sector

Islamabad : Ambassador of Jordan to Pakistan Ibrahim Almadani on Friday said that he would play a role for enhancing strong cooperation between Jordan and Pakistan in information technology, pharmaceutical, defence and other potential sectors for achieving mutually beneficial outcomes for the economies of both countries.
He expressed these views during his visit along with Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Fazal Software Technology Park and KSL Software Technology Park.
The Ambassador also visited various IT companies working in these software technology parks and appreciated the state-of-the-art facilities in the software technology parks for the IT companies.

Secretary says govt working on payment gateways to resolve industry issues

The government is working hard for the promotion of IT industry, said Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom Secretary Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Fazal Software Technology Park at I-9 Industrial Area, he stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan had the vision to promote the IT industry and the Ministry of IT and Pakistan Software Export Board were focusing on that objective.
The IT secretary pointed out that a new industrial park was being established at Chak Shahzad, Islamabad. “The government is also working on payment gateways to resolve payment issues of the IT industry,” he said.
Pakistan’s Second Software Technology Park Inaugurated in Islamabad
Fazal Software Technology Park was inaugurated under Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), a department under the Ministry of IT & Telecommunication, in Islamabad on Thursday.
Fazal Software Technology Park is a great example of public and private sector cooperation with 10 IT companies already having occupied 40,000 square feet of space in the technology park.
This is the second Software Technology Park (STP) inaugurated in Pakistan in less than three months. The Gilgit STP, set up in collaboration with Special Communications Organization (SCO), was inaugurated in October last year.
In his statement for this occasion, Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Syed Amin Ul Haque, said that Pakistan’s IT Industry is the top priority of the present government, which has been working diligently to improve the state of Pakistan’s economy, create employment, and uplift the overall quality of life.
