It’s a fitting gesture that the family of the late Noel O’Keeffe have asked mourners to wear their club colours as he is laid to rest in Rathangan tomorrow (Tuesday). In many ways, Noel was the embodiment of a devoted GAA clubman and his service to both St Anne’s and to Wexford GAA over the years is beyond reproach.
Best-selling author Eoin Colfer is in the good books with Faythe Harriers GAA Club in his home town of Wexford after generously sponsoring a set of new jerseys for the U-14 camogie team who were previously using cast-offs from the junior ladies team.
While luck may have evaded him on the pitch in the purple and gold of Wexford this year, hurler Lee Chin certainly had something to celebrate this week as he was announced the winner of the big jackpot in a local GAA club lotto.
