During the committee hearing, Isabela Representative Faustino Michael Dy III, chairman of the committee, said athletes who will join other international sports competitions would also be prioritized in the inoculation program. In January, Deputy Speaker Mikee Romero filed House Resolution 1507 which urged the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases and other concerned agencies to classify athletes as frontliners so that they can be prioritized in the vaccination process.
