Faurecia is deploying its Bike to School initiative – a proposal developed by employees of the French supplier in Morocco. The project is being rolled out in the Azilal province, where middle-high schools and high-schools are all located in the main city. For the children living in the villages, it becomes an issue to get to school, as no bus service is available. They have to walk an average distance of 5km-6km very often in extreme weather conditions (temperatures spanning from -8°C in the winter at night, to 48°C in the summer during daytime). Through Bike to School, Faurecia volunteers want to tackle this mobility challenge and unequal access to education.
