STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A New York State Justice Center investigation into the treatment of a non-verbal and autistic Staten Island man substantiated claims of neglect against a Dongan Hills community residence worker, but the most serious allegation of abuse was determined to be unsubstantiated.
The Advance/SILive.com chronicled the case of Fatmir Selimaj, a now-former resident of the AABR, Inc. community residence at 158 Cromwell Ave., who suffered extreme bruising and a litany of other injuries, including a hematoma, while living at the facility in August.
