Chandigarh: At least six patients on oxygen support in a private hospital in Amritsar died following a disruption to the oxygen supply in the facility last night. Of them, five patients were suspected to be Covid positive.
While confirming the development, Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar, Gurpreet Singh Khera told ThePrint Saturday morning that his team was at the hospital to assess why supply to the hospital was disrupted.

Even as the Opposition ranted about the Budget being more of a poll manifesto of the Congress, Finance Minister Manpreet on Wednesday went ahead with announcing development works worth over Rs 50 crore for constituencies represented by Congressmen, before the Budget was passed by the House.
Among the new budgetary allocations, most of them were for constituencies represented by Congress MLAs. Tehsil complexes were announced for Rajpura and Banur; a sports complex, swimming pool and an officers colony for Sangrur; sewerage treatment plants for Ghanaur and Fatehgarh Churian; hospital upgrade at Amloh; irrigation channels at Amritsar; a stadium at Mukerian, railway underbridge for Dhuri; a food street and park for Hoshiarpur; a Ram Tirath Balmik Dharamshala at Amritsar and another at Sultanpur Lodhi.

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], February 14 (ANI): The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday lambasted the Congress party for misusing civil and police machinery to capture booths besides unleashing violence against the opposition to intimidate voters during municipal bodies in Punjab. The SAD had already cautioned the State Election Commission (SEC) about how democracy had been murdered in the runup to the municipal polls and how Congress goons were expected to indulge in booth capturing and other unfair practices today, said Daljit Singh Cheema, Former Minister and SAD spokesman in a statement.
