Manchester has been burger-mad for years, with giant meaty sandwiches dotted all over the city.
There are the original players who still stand strong, like Almost Famous and Solita, and masses of newcomers to sample too. In the last couple of months alone, we ve seen the return and rapid expansion of south Manchester s Big Grillie Style, the arrival of Burgerize to Manchester, and a new partnership between Crazy Pedro s and Eat New York. Michelin-star restaurant Mana has turned itself into a burger takeaway during lockdown, and Fat Hippo has made its way over from the north east to join the city centre just this week.

A popular burger brand will be opening its first restaurant in Manchester this week, serving giant topped burgers and loaded fries.
Fat Hippo will be taking over the kitchens at Lane 7, which has replaced the old All Star Lanes bowling alley bar at the Great Northern.
The burger joint is already established across the North East as well as in Sheffield, Nottingham and Leeds.
It specialises in good old fashioned, roll up your sleeves and get it all over your face food .
