The security arrangements for the test cricket matches between South Africa and Pakistan beginning Tuesday (tomorow) have been finalised, said the Security and Emergency Services spokesperson on Monday.
According to the spokesperson, 5,000 officials of Karachi Police, including 1,050 Special Security Unit (SSSU) commandos, 1,500 security division personnel, along with traffic police, Rapid Response Force, special branch and other law enforcement agencies personnel will remain deployed at the airport, practice grounds, hotels and routes for transporting the teams from airport to the stadium and back. He said that specialised command and control buses will be present at the National Stadium to monitor the peace and security situation
Special Security Unit of Sindh police reviews achievements made in 2020

The Sindh police’s Special Security Unit (SSU) recently issued its annual performance report for the year 2020. The statement issued with the report said that SSU commandos and officials of other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) took active part in operations against hardened terrorists and criminals throughout the year.
In total, 148 raids were conducted in collaboration with different LEAs, resulting in the arrest of 163 suspects. Caches of explosives, weapons and ammunition, and vehicles, mobile phones, laptops and important documents were recovered from their possession.

The SSU’s SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) team comprising six members showcased their remarkable skills in the second edition of the UAE SWAT Challenge hosted by the Dubai police at the Al Ruwayyah Training City.
Security Division DIG orders resolving issues of personnel

DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Maqsood Ahmed held an open meeting at the SSU Headquarters on Wednesday, and said ordered redressing grievances of personnel at the earliest.
He met representatives of NGOs and personnel of the Security Division, including the SSU, Madadgar-15, Security-l, Security-ll, FSC and court police. He inquired about their familiesâ health, professional and personal problems and welfare issues.
Addressing the personnel of the Security Division, DIG Ahmed stated that their devoted efforts, sincerity with duty and services for the citizens had made the Security Division an exemplary police unit.
