Eldorado Park gang leader Farouk Meyerâs family demands justice after he was shot dead

Johannesburg - The family of a well-known Eldorado Park businessman and gang leader, Farouk Meyer, is demanding justice after he was shot dead on Monday.
According to witnesses, Meyer was accompanied by another person, who is believed to be Markus Ryan.
The pair were seen reversing out of the driveway of a local store, when a vehicle pulled up behind them and started firing shots.
Meyer then tried to get out of the vehicle to find shelter, while Ryan covered his face with his hands.

On Monday night, two men were shot in a car in Eldorado Park.
Crime activist Yusuf Abramjee told News24 he had received confirmation that one of the men was Farouk Meyer, a convicted murderer and alleged underworld boss.
In 2000, he was convicted of the murders of three people who were killed at a nightclub in Hillfox, Roodepoort.
Two men were shot and killed in Eldorado Park, Johannesburg, on Monday night. One of them is understood to be convicted killer and alleged underworld boss Farouk Meyer.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters said their preliminary reports indicated that a witness had heard gunshots and saw a car riddled with bullets near an auto spares shop on Boundary Road.

Police in Gauteng have launched a manhunt while investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of two men in Eldorado Park on Monday evening.
The shooting occurred just before 6pm near an auto spares shop on Boundary Road.
Gauteng police spokesperson Brig Mathapelo Peters said according to preliminary reports at the disposal of the police, a witness heard gunshots and on investigation noticed a vehicle riddled with bullet holes.
The two unknown occupants were both shot. The driver was declared dead on the scene while the second victim succumbed to injuries and was declared dead at the hospital where he had been rushed to for medical attention, she said.
