New London Parking restrictions will be in place Wednesday during the U.S. Coast Guard Academy s 140th Commencement ceremony featuring President Joe Biden as the keynote speaker.
Parking restrictions will be in effect beginning at 5 a.m. on Wednesday. There will be no parking allowed on River Ridge Road, Deshon Street, Nameaug Avenue, Oneco Avenue, Farnsworth Street, Winchester Road and Uncas Avenue.
The parking restrictions, along with the closing of Riverside Park, will remain in effect until later in the day at the discretion of the police department. Parking tickets will be issued and vehicles towed. There will be periods of time when roadways in the vicinity of the USCGA will be closed to traffic.
Hamburg Street water main in Springfield to be replaced starting Monday

SPRINGFIELD - Construction crews will begin replacing a water main in the Hamburg Street area of Springfield starting Monday, Springfield Water and Sewer Commission spokesperson Katherine Shea said.
Shea said the project will replace a section of a drinking water main along Hamburg Street beginning at its intersection with Farnsworth Street and running to its intersection with Sterling Street. The project should be completed by June 30.
During the two-month construction period, Hamburg Street will undergo extensive excavation and be reduced to one lane of alternating travel between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Access to properties and local traffic will be managed by police details and signage.
