OSWEGO â The VOW Foundation in partnership with Farnham Family Services will conduct NARCAN trainings for everyone in the community.
âAll community members are encouraged to learn and carry NARCAN to help save lives,â according to Teresa Woolson, president of the VOW Foundation.
The trainings are targeted for employees and/or community members of all ages. NARCAN, also known as Naloxone, is the lifesaving nasal medication for an opioid overdose. The overdose rate in Oswego County and the Central New York Region remains very high. This medication is a harm reduction tool that has helped save hundreds of lives every year.

FULTON â In celebration of National Rural Health Day, the Rural Health Network (RHN) of Oswego County recognized two community members for their exceptional leadership and their work as advocates for Oswego County health providers and residents.
Charge Nurse Crystal Arnold, RN, CASAC, with Farnham Family Services, and Nicole Kolmsee, director of Community Services with the Oswego County Division of Mental Hygiene were honored with the Rural Health Networkâs Rural Health Champion Award for their dedication to improving services within the county. The awards were presented by Coordinator of Community Health for Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) Leanna Cleveland at separate presentations honoring the award winners.
