FARMINGTON Peachtree activities coordinator Lisa McCoy skillfully replicated a game situation when she handed newly inducted Arkansas Softball Hall-of-Famer Carroll Ray Bell a miniature bat and steered him toward a pinata. We re going to let you have the first swing, McCoy said as Bell gripped the miniature baseball bat and worked up his approach while sizing up the baseball pinata dangling from a string in the center of a reception held in his honor July 9 at Farmington s Peachtree Village, a retirement and assisted living facility.

FARMINGTON, Ark. Farmington Schools were let out early Friday (April 30) due to a protest near the campus.
Parents of students from the school have told 5NEWS the protest is over a fight and racial incident that happened in a Farmington School s locker room on April 27.
The alert sent out to parents Friday said:
For the safety of our students we are going to dismiss school at 1:30 today. The district was made aware of a protest near campus and the safety of our students is our top priority. #Cardstudentsareworthit
