FARMINGTON A Farmington woman is accused of attacking a juvenile girl at a Farmington park, allegedly strangling and repeatedly striking her, then breaking the girl’s phone.
Lea Manuelito, 18, is accused of a third-degree felony count of child abuse and a petty misdemeanor count of criminal damage to property, according to the criminal complaint filed in the case.
The defendant did not have legal representation on the morning of May 24.
The Farmington Police Department was dispatched around 6:42 p.m. on May 21 to Brookside Park East at 1915 N. Dustin Ave. on reports of a battery, according to the probable cause statement.
Shellie Patscheck, Hayes attorney, did not respond to a request for comment.
The defendant’s preliminary hearing is set for the morning of June 2 in Farmington Magistrate Court.
FARMINGTON A Farmington man is accused of stabbing another man twice, and police say an officer used a stun gun to subdue the defendant after he allegedly resisted arrest.
Wyatt Hayes, 32, is accused of a third-degree felony count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and a misdemeanor count of resisting an officer, according to the criminal complaint.
Hayes allegedly stabbed a man twice on the afternoon of May 16 in the 900 block of East Main Street in Farmington, according to court documents.
The defendant faces a fourth-degree felony count of aggravated assault.
The defendant’s preliminary hearing is set for the morning of May 12 in Farmington Magistrate Court.
FARMINGTON A Shiprock man is accused of lunging at a Farmington Salvation Army employee with a knife after trying to get a snack from the nonprofit organization.
Melford Russell, 49, is accused of assaulting an employee of the Salvation Army thrift store at 316 W. Animas St. around 1:22 p.m. on April 26, according to court documents.
He faces a fourth-degree felony count of aggravated assault and did not have legal representation on the morning of May 5.
She did not have legal representation on the afternoon of April 22.

FARMINGTON A woman accused of stealing a vehicle after smoking narcotics allegedly backed the truck into a Farmington police vehicle, causing officers to jump away to avoid being hit.
Angeline Tom, 42, is accused of felony counts of vehicle theft and aggravated assault upon a peace officer along with misdemeanor counts including DWI and resisting arrest, according to court records.
She did not have legal representation on the afternoon of April 22. No city of residence was listed in court records.
Damon Begay, 46, is accused of a second-degree felony count of DWI (eighth or subsequent) along with a petty misdemeanor count of an open container, according to the criminal complaint.
Begay is accused of having a 0.27 and 0.28 blood alcohol content, more than three times the legal limit of 0.08 in New Mexico.
He was booked on April 7 into the San Juan County Adult Detention Center and released two days later.
