Farmington-area restaurants fighting through COVID-19
Downtown social district boosts businesses
The Farmington DDA has placed what it calls “Farmington Forts” inside the social district to allow people to eat together in a safe manner. Patrons are also able to walk the street, but they must remain in the district to drink.

Farmington Brewing Co. is one of the businesses that participates with carryout cocktails in the social district. The Syndicate is located along Grand River Avenue.

FARMINGTON As the COVID-19 pandemic rages on, local restaurants have continued to push through adversity in hopes of gaining some normalcy.
FBC Run Club hosts tribute walk in honor of Farmington man struck by vehicle Farmington Resident Derek Westbrook, 49, sits outside on the Farmington Brewing Co. patio with his dog Twiggy. Westbrook passed away Dec. 11 after being involved in a fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision.

On Dec. 11, Farmington lost a beloved community member.
Derek Westbrook, 49, died at the scene after being struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of CVS Pharmacy, 23391 Farmington Road.
According to a press release, the preliminary investigation found that a 25-year-old Farmington woman backing out of a parking spot at the pharmacy placed her foot on the accelerator instead of the brake.
