Crews respond to fiery car crash in Farmingdale, then douse blaze at nearby Gardiner apartment
The separate early-morning fires had local agencies busy Tuesday morning in the Kennebec County communities, with officials saying the driver of a crashed vehicle in Farmingdale was injured.

A fiery car accident on Maine Avenue in Farmingdale Tuesday morning helped firefighters be in position to quickly suppress a separate blaze reported a few minutes later at an apartment building in Gardiner.
The vehicle caught fire after exiting Route 201 and coming to rest next to the Maine Smoke Shop at 4:12 a.m., according to firefighters who responded from Gardiner, Pittston and Randolph to assist Farmingdale.
