i also think hearing that statement from the president this morning, aside from china, is there another singular issue that could impact the trump economy in such a major way other than china in an election year. there are a lot of things i would argue the administration has done that affect the economy. some for better, some for worse, certainly the tax cuts have juiced markets at the very least. i don t think they ll have a huge long-lasting impact. letting this linger through an election year, i feel like this is could be the singular biggest issue that could impact the economy. you have farmers suffering, manufacturers who are suffering. we now have a farmer bailout that is twice the size of the auto bailout from ten years ago under obama that republicans opposed as you may recall. so there s a lot of sort of efforts at cleanup to try to buy off votes, i think, at this point but the real problem is that we have all of this

so we will show you more of that in the program. this morning, new fallout from the president s trade war with china. the president announced a new $16 billion bailout for farmers who have been devastated by this policy. he lied about where the money is coming from. he says china is paying for it. christine romans is hoere to gie us the facts. the farmers need this money. they really do. they have been the collateral damage of the president s trade war, no doubt here. and the president plans to bail them out. bail them out farmers hurt by his trade war with china. he s promising $16 billion in aid and saying this. because it all comes from china. we ll be taking in over a period of time hundreds of billions of dollars in tariffs and charges to china and our farmers will be greatly helped. okay, fact check. that s not a fact. china is not paying for the farmer bailout, just like mexico is not paying for the president s border wall. trump doesn t have a magic bank
