Region XII Council of Governments has provided a COVID-19 funding update. The first is for recreational trails programs through the Iowa Transportation Commission. They have approved a one-time, $5 million allocation to help offset COVID-related reductions in the State Recreational Trails (SRT) program. Funding can be used for property acquisition, construction of new trails, maintenance, resurfacing and restoration of existing trails, development and rehabilitation of trailside and trailhead facilities and trail linkages.
