ISLAMABAD: The deputy commissioner and senior superintendent of police (operations) on Friday delivered speeches at Faisal Mosque to create awareness among people of Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the harmful effects of drugs.
On the other hand, there was no let-up in the number of cases in Islamabad while two persons succumbed to Covid-19 in Rawalpindi.

He further directed the official concerned to auction unclaimed vehicles and bikes.
He also sought improvement in the sanitation and hygiene at the city police stations.
IGP Rehman was visiting Shalimar and Karachi Company police station along with DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmad Kausar, SSP (Operations) Dr Syed Mustafa Tanweer and Additional SP Farhat Abbas Kazmi to review the water situation, sanitation and hygiene in the residential barracks of the police stations.
During his visit, IGP reviewed residential facilities for Eagle Squad personnel at the Shalimar police station.
He ordered construction of separate parking shed for the Eagle Squad motor bikes.
63 drug peddlers held
Islamabad: Police have arrested 63 persons on charges of drug-peddling during an accelerated drive against anti-social elements.
According to SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer, under the direction of IG Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman, a special intelligence-based campaign has been launched in the city. He said special squads have been constituted under Additional SP Islamabad Farhat Abbas Kazmi.
He was of the view that the supply of drugs cannot be checked completely until there is demand in the society and added the police have decided to put a hand on the drug users. He said both young boys and girls are among the drug users and warned the parents to keep a check on their children in this regard.
63 drug peddlers arrested

Islamabad: Police have arrested 63 persons on charges of drug-peddling during an accelerated drive against anti-social elements. According to SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer, under the direction of IG Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman, a special intelligence-based campaign has been launched in the city. He said special squads have been constituted under Additional SP Islamabad Farhat Abbas Kazmi. He was of the view that the supply of drugs cannot be checked completely until there is demand in the society and added the police have decided to put a hand on the drug users. He said both young boys and girls are among the drug users and warned the parents to keep a check on their children in this regard. The SSP said that during the past two weeks, 63 persons involved in supplying drugs to youth were arrested.
