Hes also directed the Missouri Department of transportation and new mexico state highway and Transportation Department he just cant hold onto a job. We have a challenging organization in maryland where the secretary of transportation is responsible for all modes of transportation and coordinating all modes of transportation. Has done an outstanding job and wrecking the department. Ofalso serves as president the American Association of hes held other positions and we are proud to have him before our committee. And i happen to be one of those. And i recognize that this time, senator cardin. And introduce pleasure to have secretary ron here before the committee. Secretary ron, secretary of transportation in maryland. As i was telling as a chairman, this is the third state, secretary of transportation. Department of transportation and new mexico state highway and transportation, cant hold onto a job. Very proud of the work in maryland. And the organization in maryland with the secretary of transportation is responsible for coordinating modes of transportation. Mister ron has done an outstanding job in directing that department, very large budget. He also served as american state transportation officials, 20072008 and national leadership, proud to have him before the committee. Very good. Recognize senator
Collection company that is taking over the failing forprofit school is saying that we are truly not for profit and we are truly going to play this on the square. And if students feel they have been treated unfairly, they have every legal right to go to court so they dont end up with tens of thousands of dollars of debt because we defrauded them. I felt pretty good about that response. Then we read the fine print. We found out em ecmc requires students to irrevocably waive their right to seek trial by jury and any Class Action Lawsuit against the school. That isnt what mr. Hahn told me was going to happen. In other words students who were wronged by ecmc have to challenge the school loan, stand by themselves and cant make their case in front of a jury. Then their carrots ecmc enrollment agreement does everything it can to steer students into arbitration. They offer to pay half the cost of a students filing fee for arbitration if and only if the student waives the right to arbitration de
