Ukrainian hackers have targeted Russia's largest Internet portal, Mail.ru, causing disruptions for users outside of Russia and some domestic clients, Ukraine’s Digital Transformation Ministry reported via Telegram on Feb. 29.
Russia has yet to comment on the attack but authorities did announce Tuesday that a “technical problem” had shut down several internet sites in the country.
Cyber experts linked to Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) executed a hacking attack, destroying the entire IT infrastructure of IPL Consulting, a company specializing in implementing information systems in the Russian industrial sector, HUR reported on Jan. 27.
Naftogaz, Ukraine’s largest gas and oil company, said on social media that its data center is undergoing a cyberattack, rendering its website and call service unavailable.
