Houston police are investigating the shooting of a male at 101 East Little York Road that occurred about 12:05 a.m. today (August 2). Juan Montano, 32, was transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition. HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers G. Black and V. Garcia reported: Officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of a bar at the above address and found Mr. Montano had been transported to the hospital via private vehicle. Officers learned a fight had started between a suspect and a male. When the suspect went to the restroom, Montano began fighting with the male. When the two fighting males were kicked out of the business, the first suspect began shooting at the male. Witnesses held the shooter down and struggled with him for the gun. Montano attempted to assist the suspect but one of the males struggling for the gun got the gun away and shot Montano in the abdomen.
