Quebec’s school service centres will have to ensure bathrooms and changing rooms newly built or renovated are gender specific rather than gender neutral, according to a new government directive published Wednesday in the province's Official Gazette.
Pablo Rodriguez's statement comes days after a group of Quebec ministers publicly called out the federal government for not doing enough to help their province cope with a wave of asylum seekers.
The Quebec government says it is not currently considering adding gender neutral markers for non-binary people or those who do not identify as female or male.
