when i came to the united states, i start a new life from zero. in afghanistan, i worked with but when i came here, i started with a low level job. housing problem, no transportation, a language problem for my wife. you have such good rapport with the families and stuff. when i met mahmood and his wife, they had nothing. everybody was still sleeping on the floor. we provided basic necessities. assigned them to family mentors. and then it s just been this journey. they helped me how to go to college, find a better job, integrate into american society. within six months, my wife learned english. do you know what color you want? yeah. you do? blue. you want blue? starting over in a new country, it is a lonely journey. we want them to know that they re not alone.
