Its been burning since 4 00 here and firefighters have been protecting a row of homes were flames burned up to the homes the problem is that the grass is very dense, and 7 to 8 feet high in places. It takes a lot of water to douse, and there are no hydrants here, theyve been trucking in water. The fire captain tells me this area is a known homeless encampment. We make contact with a couple individuals who are exiting. They did say there are homeless still in the camp that couldnt get out. That did not seem to be the case.
