Our top story this morning. A change could soon be coming to iowa that would give more rights to felons. Right now felons are not allowed to vote. But the Iowa Supreme Court may soon relax or change that. Kwwls Amanda Gilbert joins us live this morning with reaction and this idea is getting a lot of reaction. Some closure may soon be coming. For a long time theres been confusion on which of iowas thousands of former offenders are eligible to vote. Right now the only way felons can vote is if their rights are restored by the governor. Iowa is one of three state with lifetime voting bans for felons. Recovering tonight after firefighters rescue them from their burning home. It happened just before 11 45 last night in cedar falls, at a Mobile Home Park in the 2500 block of union road. Firefighters rescued a five yearold girl, a threeyearold boy and their mother from the home. They had to head back to the scene around four this morning when the fire picked up again. Kwwls lauren moss speaking with firefighters today she joins us now with the latest they say the 3 and 5 year old are in Good Condition tonight while the mother, Ashley Calfee is at the university of iowa hospitals and clinics for smoke inhalation. Meanwhile crews had to deal with extreme conditions both from shows a terrifying sight. A fire traps a mother and her 5 and three year old hear their voices inside. Calling out for help as they tried to put out the flames with air foam. Within minutes Cedar Falls Fire Department arrived on scene. Firefighters got in there and rescued the children.
