Dublin police continue to investigate the death of a Fallon Middle School janitor and the illness befalling his fiancee, also a custodian at the school, when the engaged couple were found by police in severe medical distress in the library early in the morning after not returning home after their shift last week.
The decedent has been identified by the Alameda County Coroner s Bureau at James Covington, 32, of Pittsburg. His fiancee and colleague, identified online as Shameka Wilbon, had been treated at a local hospital and was expected to make a full recovery.

DUBLIN, Calif. - James Covington s family is in mourning. On Thursday, they paid a visit to Fallon Middle School in Dublin, where the custodian died after he and his fiancee, also a custodian, were found unconscious in the campus library. He looked out for all of us. He was like our rock, said his mother Tamara Covington-White.
Authorities initially wondered if the custodians had accidentally mixed chemicals, like bleach, while cleaning. But police said there were no signs of that. Instead, officers said they found ground-up pills in a bag at the scene.

Dublin police are investigating the death of one custodian and illness of a second custodian who were found Wednesday at the middle school where they worked hours after they failed to show up at home.
DUBLIN, Calif. - One custodian is dead and another is in the hospital after the pair were found in the library at a Dublin middle school, possibly suffering from some sort of chemical reaction, two days before Christmas.
And now the family is wondering if the bizarre tragedy could possibly be related to coronavirus cleaning solutions the two had been trained on in the last week or so.
