Fall River High School will be transitioning to distance learning beginning on Thursday, March 4, to Monday, March 22, after 12 students tested positive for COVID-19 in the last week, said Merrill Grant, superintendent of the Fall River Joint Unified School District. We worked closely with Shasta County Department of Public Health to make this decision in the best interest of the school and the greater Intermountain community, Grant said in an email.
The cases do not seem to be related and they did not spread in school, Grant added in the email. However, contact tracing shows that cases could be transmitted in outside activities students are involved in.
