Under Phase 1 of the South Coast Rail Project, six new commuter rail stations will be built along the Middleborough-Lakeville line, including at Middleborough, East Taunton, Freetown, Fall River Depot, Church Street in New Bedford and New Bedford.
Construction work for the long-awaited South Coast Rail Project linking southeastern Massachusetts to Boston is ramping up this spring.
Under Phase 1 of the South Coast Rail Project, six new commuter rail stations will be built along the Middleborough-Lakeville line, including at Middleborough, East Taunton, Freetown, Fall River Depot, Church Street in New Bedford and New Bedford.
The Fall River and Freetown Stations are part of the first construction package.
Fall River South Coast Rail Virtual Meeting Set
Those interested in South Coast Rail construction in Fall River are invited to tune in to a virtual public meeting on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority will host the Fall River Community Meeting on Zoom, and the project team will present an update on the Fall River Depot Station, Weaver s Cove Layover Facility, and the start of construction in the city.
Following the presentation, the team will answer questions. Materials will be posted on the event page the morning of the meeting. A recording will be posted shortly afterward for those who are unable to attend.
