Fall River Day of Portugal celebration postponed to Aug. 19-22
Organizers announced on Wednesday that the celebration will now take place in August.
“In light of the current public health concerns, due to the global pandemic of COVID-19 and after considering all the risks to everyone’s health, our committee has decided to postpone our event slated for June 19 -21 and moving it to Aug. 19 thru 22, if we are allowed by city and state officials,” organizers said in a statement sent to O Jornal.
The celebration had already been postponed twice since the beginning of the pandemic.
“It is disappointing for us to have to postpone again our long-awaited and hard-earned plans and to make 2021 a memorable year, but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The numbers are slowly coming down,” read the statement.
