For the first time in almost eight years, the PGA Tour had to shorten one of its premiere events, namely the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The very storm that reeked havoc upon Lake County last weekend had an equally profound effect upon the top golf professionals on the Monterey Peninsula. This time around the Pebble Beach Pro-Am was a signature event, meaning that it had a much larger than usual purse as well as its strongest field in more than a decade. Sad to say but Mother Nature didn’t do her part and a top notch golf tournament on a most iconic golf course was cancelled last Sunday and limited to just 54 holes of play.
