Hailing from the city of Dadu in the interior of Sindh province, leg-spinner Zahid Mahmood has been in excellent form in the ongoing domestic season. In the recently concluded National T20 Cup, Zahid s 12 wickets in 9 games were instrumental in taking his side, Southern Punjab, to the final of the tournament. He is currently one of the leading wicket takers in the 4-Day Quaid-e-Azam Trophy tournament with 24 wickets to his name.
In an exclusive interview with PakPassion.net, Zahid spoke about why he considers Imran Tahir, Rashid Khan and Fawad Ahmed as his role models, the reasons behind the absence of players from interior Sindh at the top levels of Pakistan cricket, his experience of playing in the Pakistan Super League, the secret behind his success at the domestic level and his hopes of finding a place in the Pakistan national side.

KARACHI: Danish Aziz hit his maiden List hundred as Sindh defeated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by four wickets in their seventh round fixture of the Pakistan Cup One-day Tournament for First XI here at the SBP Ground on Wednesday,.
The 25-year-old left-handed batsman, who recently toured New Zealand with Pakistan Shaheens, struck unbeaten 101 as Sindh chased a stiff 276-run target with eight balls to spare for the loss of six wickets.
Danish hit six sixes and five fours in his solid 102-ball, match-winning knock. At one stage, Sindh were reeling at 118-5. However, Danish added 148 runs for the sixth wicket with in-form Hassan Khan, who scored gutsy 51 off 55 deliveries, striking two fours. Saad Ali made 64-ball 49 with five fours. Left-arm spinner Asif Afridi got 3-60 in ten overs, while fast bowler Arshad Iqbal claimed 2-12 in 2.4 overs.

KARACHI: Holders Central Punjab put themselves on the brink of qualification for the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (first-class) when they reduced Southern Punjab to 314-7 in their second innings, having first forced them to follow on the third day of their four-day last round fixture here at SBP Ground on Monday.
Southern Punjab are eight runs ahead with only three wickets in hand. Opener Zain Abbas spearheaded Southern Punjab’s innings with a superb 118 off 172 balls. He hit 18 fours and one six in his maiden century of the season.
Agha Salman once again batted well, scoring 79 off 119 balls, smacking 12 fours. Umar Siddiq (32) and Imran Rafiq (30) were the other notable contributors.
