Faith Maternity Care (FMC) exists to serve women who choose to carry their babies to full-term, by providing a home for expectant mothers, along with community client services for mothers who already have a place to call home. It s now Baby Bottle Fundraising time, and we are excited to introduce a new process this year! Churches, groups, and individuals may pick up baby bottles and join us for prayer time at the FMC home on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. We will gather together, as believers supporting women choosing life. The baby bottles will be bagged and ready to be distributed. If you are unable to join us on May 4, you may pick up bottles at the FMC home Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. beginning May 1.

Our client Kavacia had encountered difficult childhood circumstances that followed her into young adulthood, surrounded by negative people, sketchy places, and substance use abuse. Having recently moved out of a domestic violence shelter, Kavacia walked through her fears of uncertainty, as she made her way through our doors, arriving pregnant, scared, and very much alone. Kavacia admitted, "I struggled with codependency, indecisiveness, depression, and people pleasing; all of these kept me in a place that was sad and stagnant and kept me in a dark place."

Each year Thanksgiving week brings me pause to reflect and take inventory of what I am grateful for. I looked up the definitions and differences between thankfulness and gratitude. Thankfulness is a response to something external, while gratitude is an appreciation that is deeper and comes from within. This season I have an overflowing heart of gratitude for our many volunteers and their gifts of time, talents, and positive attitudes to serve alongside us at the maternity home.
