Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, Mertz will oversee Catering and Conference Services for the 545-room hotel, which is home to several majo r annual conferences in Dallas.Mertz brings over twenty years of experience to the position, including experience from several previous roles in management positions in Catering and Conference Service Departments. She has previously served as the Director of Special Events at Goldman Properties in Miami, FL, Senior Catering & Group Sales Manager at both The Setai and The Raleigh Hotel, and Director of Catering and Convention Services at W South Beach.

Fairmont Dallas welcomes David Sher as general manager of the iconic Dallas Arts District hotel which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019. Sher is returning to Fairmont Dallas after previously serving as Director of Operations at the property from 2015 to 2020. He joins the hotel s leadership team after most recently serving as the general manager of Fairmont Pittsburgh.

He brings over 12 years of experience to Fairmont Dallas, beginning his career as a Rooms Intern at the Historic Palmer House Hotel in 2011. After completing Hilton s Management Development Training Program, Sous served as Director of Housekeeping at multiple properties including the Hilton Chicago and Towers and Conrad Chicago. Sous joined the Accor family at the Swissotel Chicago as Director of Housekeeping in 2019.
