TAG Brings the Music Friday Night at Fairlane Station

Young musicians involved in the Teen Action & Support Center will debut their first CD with a concert and release party Friday night at Fairlane Station in downtown Springdale.

It’s time to “make space” for hip-hop in Northwest Arkansas. On Sunday, a group of promoters and artists will face that challenge during a panel discussion at 5 p.m. called “Making Space: Discussing the Future and the Current State of Hip-Hop” followed by a hip-hop showcase at Fairlane Station in Springdale.

• Ola Atilola of Asami Tea won the Cureate Courses Pitch Competition and a $5,000 check in a business pitch competition Dec. 14 at Fairlane Station in Springdale. Stephanie Kirkpatrick of Bartleby's Seitan Stand won the community vote. The local judges included: Philip Adams, executive director of FORGE; Jeannette Balleza Collins, director entrepreneurial development for the Northwest Arkansas Council; Randy Wilburn, host of "I Am Northwest Arkansas"; and Ashley Sutterfield, CEO of Metzger & Roth in Fayetteville. The awards were part of a year-end event series to celebrate the 10 Northwest Arkansas food and beverage small business owners who completed Cureate's eight-week business program.
