Cop s Son Who Punched Officer In Capitol Attack Has A Brother In The Secret Service
Scott Fairlamb, a former ultimate fighter, got pulled into the conspiracy theory vortex, one associate said.
A Donald Trump-loving gym owner who authorities say attacked a police officer during the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol is the son of a deceased New Jersey trooper and has a brother in the U.S. Secret Service, HuffPost has learned.
Scott Kevin Fairlamb, the owner of Fairlamb Fit and a former ultimate fighter, is the son of retired New Jersey Trooper Preston “Jay” Fairlamb Jr., who died in a 2012 motorcycle crash. Michelle Obama, the first lady at the time, attended a memorial service for the elder Fairlamb because his other son, Preston “Jay” Fairlamb III, had led her Secret Service detail. Obama even mentioned Preston Fairlamb III in her recent memoir, writing that they “became real friends” and shared stories and jokes.

WASHINGTON President Biden on Friday ordered the director of national intelligence to work with the F.B.I. and the Department of Homeland Security to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the threat from domestic violent extremism, a sign of how seriously the new administration is taking the issue in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.
Sussex County man arrested in connection with Capitol riot

A Sussex County resident and owner of a gym in Passaic County was arrested Friday in connection with the Jan. 6 riots at the Capitol building in Washington, D.C.
Scott Fairlamb, who was identified by the FBI as a resident of the Stockholm section of Hardyston, is facing charges including assaulting a federal officer, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and carrying a dangerous weapon, according to the United States Attorney s Office.
An arrest affidavit signed Thursday contains still images of video footage allegedly showing Fairlamb, sporting a beard and a brown camouflage jacket, among the Capitol rioters Jan. 6. Two images show the man identified as Fairlamb shoving an officer and punching him in the head, while another shows him standing on scaffolding on Capitol grounds.
